High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)

HIFU deposits focused ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. The treatment jumpstarts a natural process, known as neocollagenesis, to produce fresh, new collagen.

It is a non-invasive, skin tightening treatment that uses ultrasound to actually lift muscle and tone loose or sagging skin without any downtime.

HIFU is suitable for treating mild to moderate loose skin, and can be performed on someone of any age, gender and skin colour.

Conditions treated
  • Sagging skin under the chin
  • Sagging Jowls
  • Turkey neck
  • Dropping side of the mouth
  • Lowered eyebrow line
  • Thin and crepey skin
  • Lines or wrinkles on the chest

How does HIFU work?

Unlike superficial treatments, HIFU bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths and the right temperature. This energy triggers a natural response under the skin, jumpstarting the regenerative process that produces fresh, new collagen.

What is the procedure like?

Comfort thresholds vary from person to person. It is normal to experience a slight prickling feeling during the procedure, which does not last long. This feeling indicates that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

When will I start to see results?

Some patients see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the real results appear over 2−3 months as new collagen works to lift and tighten skin. The treatment produces new collagen within the skin, but your natural aging process and lifestyle factors will dictate how long that translates into visible results.

How many treatments will I need?

Some people may only need one treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual’s collagen-building process, some clients benefit from having 3-4 treatments.

Maintenance treatments are required as the body’s natural aging process continues.

Can HIFU replace a Facelift?

No. HIFU can’t duplicate the results of a facelift, but it is a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those not ready for surgery—and can even be an option for patients who wish to extend the effects of cosmetic surgery.

Is there any downtime after HIFU?

No. You will be able to return to your normal activities immediately after your procedure without any post-treatment restrictions or requirements.

Your skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some clients’ experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.
