How often have you stood in front of the mirror and just lifted your cheeks back a couple of centimeters? “That’s how I would like to look” say many of our patients “but I just can’t afford the time or expense of a surgical facelift”. So now we have the Silhouette Soft Thread Lift which has been called the “lunchtime facelift” because it takes just about that amount of time for the entire procedure.

What is it?

The Silhouette Soft Thread is an absorbable skin suture with a difference.  The difference is multiple small cones along the length of the thread.  These cones are designed to hold the skin in its new lifted position.  As the cones slowly dissolve they are replaced with your own collagen which provides a degree of permanence to the lift and also improves the texture and volume of your skin.

How is it done?

A careful evaluation is first performed as every face is different. Usually it is the jowls that need a lift but other areas such as the neck and brow can also be treated.

Once a plan has been made, a little local anesthetic is injected to numb the skin. The Silhouette Soft suture is then inserted with a fine needle and passed under the skin so that the thread lies in the direction of the intended lift. The skin is then lightly massaged upwards where the cones in the suture hold it in place. The effect is immediate and long lasting. Amazingly, no incisions are required so there is no scarring!

Downtime is minimal as the slight redness and swelling will subside by the following day.
